It's an argument of knowing jack shit about playing guitar. A majority of guitar players have Duane in their Top 5 guitar players of all time. Duane used circular picking with alot of 3 chord triad slide riffs, while certain strings were muted with his thumb and middle finger. He also picked over the top of the slide with his index and middle finger. His techniques were so difficult, I don't know how to begin to explain.

Dickey absolutely is and so are Derek and Warren! To say they're not in the same league is ludacris. Really the only major difference between them was their phrasing. They all played the same scales and modes. Derek has Duanes impeccable phrasing. Warren Has his fierocity and soul and Dickey has the straight southern no bullshit sound!

i saw them open for kravitz that yr, when they came to the uk for the toxic twin towers ball with aerosmith. excellent gig, only spoiled by the fact that the crowes opened for (yuk) stereophonics, who arent worthy to lick chris robinsons ass-crack. they r a crowes cover band from wales ffs. the crowes blew all of them offstage anyway, except for aerosmith, who r just gods onstage, especially tyler and perry, who just seem to ooze rock'n'roll from their very pores

JPJ is a brilliant all round writer, arranger, musician and live player who contributed a huge amount to the LZ sound and is very much under appreciated. Page had many horrible live performances, but overall they were still very creative and a great studio band. My favorite LZ material is their acoustic songs done in open tunings - Rain Song, Black Mountain Side, Bron yr aur, Going to California.

I think, By Your Side isn't a poor album. But I agree, that they lost their faith in themselves on their "Band"-era. Same goes for the "Tall"-era. They dropped so much great material. I LOVE THE "THE LOST CROWES".

i dont know wot u r all on about, i thought this was the best album they did since southern harmony. i prefer them when they r lively, not stoned and playing all the old songs at half tempo. i saw them twice on this tour and they rocked each time. i saw them support aerosmith and lenny kravitz at wembley, and the only act better was aerosmith... but thats a given i suppose. this was a great album, much better than 3 snakes. better than lions, but not by much. i have loved all the albums tho.

Yeah I notice that too. I worked for a college radio station so I took Howard's same energy. I grew up watching on E! and listening to him on the radio when I drove to school everyday. the first time I saw them i was in the 7th grade and they played Odessye skate center in Tampa, they gave me my first shot of jack daniels. Lefty was another good Tampa band. The Rocket Club, Mark Twains, YLS. Aint shit in Tampa anymore unless you like salsa it's a shame too
