I own, regrettably, a GM-made Vehicle upon which all what I say herein is true! 1- Poor Build Quality. Cheap Door handles etc 2- Very Poor Gas Mileage. I have a 98 Regal,I first thought the noise was related to the tensioner s but after replacing the Turbo one realized not only is my other one gone using a Stethoscope found that indeed I suffer from the same problem.Very embarrassing when sitting in a drive through!! After checking the price at GM for repair($3000 ya right) and wondering why I didn't buy a Mazda later, this is good news!!! First off, glad I could help! Second, it's completely worth the price to buy the ZZP coupler. The reason why original couplers loosen relatively quickly is because the rubber they are made of allows for more oil absorption which eventually means you are sacrifing the crucial stiff characteristics of the part. I don't have any affiliation to ZZP, I just use their products and know how well they work so if I were you, I would definitely spring for the extra few bucks and buy the green coupler!

This video is extremely informative, thank you. I've just today broken-down my M90 for inspection to discover a worn coupler (though it was expected). Your idea to use the spray bottle top was perfect for the job. I'm running a 3.25 myself but dropping it to ZZP's 2.8 with 8-groove modular assembly. I haven't decided if I'll use ZZP's coupler yet, as it is rougly twice the price of the Eaton part. Would you say it's worth the price?

I don't have a sound clip but it is a definitive noise coming from the snout of the supercharger by the pulley that you will be able to pinpoint with a stethoscope. It is not a tinny noise like an exhaust rattle would give but more of a constant thud. The best way I can describe it is by putting a few pebbles in a jar and shaking the jar around...odd but true. Hope this helps

I thought mine was an exhaust rattle at first, but after clamping everything down, No improvments. I have almost 90,000 miles on the car, and for the couple bucks for the coupler, I might as well go for it.

What are you trying to use, metric or standard allen wrenches? The correct size should be 3/16" but if its stripped or mis shaped, then you might have to adjust your size accordingly.

Thank you and you are definitely correct. I could not find a solid number on what to torque the snout bolts down to so I just went with 15. It's amazing how well a little gasket maker seals up so nicely. As an update, it has been a couple of months and everything is still holding up better than ever.
