it has very little to do with emotions. it has to do with the time it was created. it was created during the baroque period, there were actually many different genres within baroque. they only share a common ground which is increased use of counter point and more complicated passages and lengthier chord runs. therefore this can only be baroque and not classical. emotions simply do not come into play.
