Because Christians sin just like everyone else. I actually have met and consider myself to be a Christian that obeys the teachings of Christ. I fail and mess up just like everyone else, but I do my best and think that God sees that as being enough. I think the answer is two-fold. First and most importantly: people aren't perfect. Not even getting into a big philosophical debate about "what is perfect?" I'll move into 2) There is a very misguided view among current Christians (Kanye West comes to mind) that once you are saved that God gives you grace to do whatever you want. I think a lot of people acknowledge Christ/God and Hell, but they still want to do whatever they want to. Jesus as a Get out of Jail Free Card as it were.

today i heard the story of christian the lion for the first time. i have never had a story touch my heart as this one did. christian appears to sincerely love these men. it was so sweet that he was rescued when a cub and was given a good life but then so sad to know that he has passed away now. (i am assuming so since it was so long ago and they never found him again). i hope christian knew they loved him instead of thinking they abandoned him when they first left him in africa.

I think Hillary Hahn is a great violinist. but i think Ferras plays this piece with more soul and passion. i like soulfull playing rather than perfect technicality but i don't know. thats just my taste
