I agree with you, but it's a matter of taste. He's kind of too "adult contemporary" for me, too "easy listening." But he's no doubt very talented and has a great voice. I got to meet him once before he got famous, in the blues CD department of a book store in Santa Monica. He signed my CD. He's a really nice, normal guy, but his music is too mellow for me.

thanks for replying . . . as far as the Idols go, that may go for some but trust me, you will be seeing some of those Idols for a long ass time. David Cook blows me away. David Archuletta just needs to mature and then he will be blowing everyone away. Tori Amos is my absolute favorite. She can kick ass in her concerts too. I saw her without her band Check out Welcome to Sunny Fla - Precious Things. I have never seen a jam band and I am sure that I wld absolutely be in Heaven seeing DMB!

There seems to be some confusion between the man's life and the movie version. The first recording of Folsom Prison Blues for the audition with Sam Philips was not released. His first single was Hey, Porter with Cry, Cry, Cry on the B side. The second single was Folsom Prison Blues, and the third was I Walk The Line.

Folsom Prison Blues was originally the first song ever recorded by Johnny Cash. When he first wrote it he was in the air force and later on he started singing it in a recording studio trying to get a record deal when the man wouldn't accept his gospel. The first few versions were slower and there was only 2 guitar solos. In the end and right after the 3rd verse ended. He died on Spetember 12, 2003 due to complications of diabetes. *R.I.P* Johnny Ray Cash

Ok i believe I found one where Carlos Santana performed with DMB. That one is my favorite by far, because Carlos provides the amazing guitar to Dave's amazing voice. This isn't it, obviously, but this one delivers much more then Clapton/Dylan could. Hendrix's version definitely is one of the best versions of it.
