well in the colorado springs yard theres usually 2 locomotives the bnsf b40-8w which was there since like 3 months ago and the newly arived drgw gp40-2 in its original paint!!! that was rare since the last time i saw a drgw unit was a year ago. sad thing is its patched. oh well. anyway rate and definately comment^^

January 21, 2008: Turn it up! NS GP40-2 3039 leads H47 and NS GP38-2 5662 brings up the rear. That horn is MASSIVE! Absolutely one of my favorites. In comparison, this sounds like the S-5T RRO on the 3430. ENJOY!
Also, that evening at Wernersville Station H31 had a NS High Hood GP50 7056 with a great P3 horn leading and NS High Hood GP38-2 5171 pushing. Enjoy!

The track north of town that still exists is called the Ocean County siding. I believe it is used for the SA31 (freight train) to run around to the other end of the freight train to bring the train back up the Southern Secondary to Red Bank and Eventually Browns Yard in Sayreville NJ where the train originates.

Yep... it was also a major departure point early in the century for folks heading to Seaside and such. There were only 2 full sets of tracks with 2 additionals used as sidings and for maintainence. One siding still exists to the north of town while the other was removed late 80's. As a child I used to regularly hop a ride south due to the slowdown when it crossed Union Ave.

Well not Really. This crossing used to have I believe 4 tracks. When the freight train reaches Lakehurst which is the end of the Southern Secondary. The locomotive sits and lays over where the train was when it started moving. The freight train waits the freight cars are kept on a runaround track about a mile or 2 miles away. The tracks that continue South are abandoned. Lakehurst was once a MAJOR Railroad Hub before Conrail.

CSX 9121 parked on an eastbound train in CSX's West Pittsburg Yard in Pennsylvania. As of 2005, there were only 3 CSX locomotives left in Chessie paint. As of Jan 2008, there are still only 3 left; 9120, 9121, 9122!

Check your sources again. She was spotted in Indiana about 4 weeks ago still in the old Seaboard Paint, she managed to excape Huntington with a new traction motor and a white cab roof without a total repaint.....surprising, maybe someone intentionlly did not mark it up for new paint.

Inside an Active GP40-2

I saw an opportunity and with permission from the local crew, i got a shot of the local gp40 while it was idling at the depot.
Note: There is NO air conditioning and it felt like 150 degrees in this cab on an 80 degree day, but the seats are well-cushioned and recline which is a plus.
