Guitar Cases - Protecting Your Instrument From Damage
Guitars are (by and large) very strongly built, and are able to withstand a lot of abuse. Accidents do happen though, and if you travel anywhere with your guitar, you will need to give it as much protection as possible. Most guitars will have an option of a hard case when you buy them new, and I would say that this would be a very sound investment. If you have bought a guitar without a case though, I suggest you look into buying one for yourself.
If possible, you should try and get a case specifically made for the model of guitar that you own. If that isn't possible however, there are universal guitar cases that you could consider, which would do the job.

If you are a bass guitar player or have an acoustic guitar to take on your travels, then your requirements will be a little different. By that I mean that the shape of the case will need to be different. You might be able to fit your guitar into a case that is bigger then the size of the guitar, but if the guitar can move about inside the case, then you are asking for trouble.
