what im saying is it took me a long time to find the fender that I DO PLAY. don't make assumptions. i just think that its nto worth it for people to start playing a guitar with the cheapest guitar they find. in most cases its a squire. i dislike that part of it. however, where i live it easier to obtain a real gibson which i have used. I ALREADY PREFER FENDERS so don;t pretend you know me at all. and yes i do think playing skill matters a lot.

I agree. The thing of it is, Clapton has never been one to steal a show when others are on stage, unfortunately. He holds back unless he's solo, then he can really let loose. I understand why he does that, but it's somewhat disappointing.

Bon sang, je l'ai réecouter une autre fois, pour m'en convaincre, même conclusion: J.J. Cale est totalement à côté du rythme!!! C'est pourtant pas le premier venu, le gars! A croire que même les meilleurs ont des moments d'abscence... Il faut voir également la tronche du Eric au début du morceau! Totalement "mystifié" lui aussi... Ca me rassure un peu quand j'écoute mes propres morceaux! Piètre guitariste que je suis!

the only point i was making is that page is sloppy live for example the missed notes of the beginning of since i been loving you from the song remains the same. Yeah he was a mess. Heroin. I remember that time well. I was in 10th grade, and Jimmy was nowhere to be found. Just disappeared after the death. No news, pics, nothing. Gone. Nobody expected to see him alive again. Then word got out he was going to do the ARMs shows. Everybody was so excited. We thought we were going to see vintage Page on the guitar. How wrong we were. His playing was very poor by his standards. But his fans gave him a pass because we realized he was human and was suffering.

Page, for whatever reasons, was indeed having a very off night. That does not make him a bad guitarist. I don't know what's worse, the people saying he's horrible because of one bad performance or the die hard fans saying this is passion and brilliant. It was one bad show due to drugs, depression or whatever. One thing for sure is it's not good. He is still a legend, he's still brilliant, still a major talent, but this show was not an example of it.

Clapton is god, guitar-wise anyway. No surprise the band is the best in the business considering they are playing with him. Steve Gadd = renowned jazz drummer, protege of the great Gene Krupa, Nathan East = jazz bass player from a band called Foreplay, Billy Preston...no words can describe him, etc. Clapton plays with the best of the best.

I was just about to post that, the drummer is out of control. I mean, it's hard to tell when Clapton's soloing and all, but you know. The bends he uses are perfect, his hammer-pulls absolutely shred, and on top of that, he knows how to build a solo. The crescendo just blows me away.
