He actually wanted to neme zeppelin the new yardbirds from the beginning. But when he realized the power that Him Bonham Plant and Jones had together he decided that they had to have there own name as they were to be their own superband which page didnt origonally expect to happen. Led Zeppelin origonated from Lead Zeppelin when page and 3 other superstars joked about starting a band. So he changed Lead to Led to avoid any confusion or mispernounciation. Long live Page, the absolute god of rock

sans details They were all inthe same band but it was never all three of them at the same time.Clapton was the band's original guitarist but after the band began to move away from the blues Clapton felt they were becoming too pop so he quit.Then they brought in Beck to replace him and then Page joined them.Things came up and Beck was kicked out,leaving Page as the only guitarist.Eventually the band split, only Page remained so he rebuilt the band, called it Led Zeppelin and the rest is history.

probably an excellent guitar by today's standards. couldn't make out the name on the head but I'll be it had solid wood top, sides & back. @ 2:53 you see Beck pick up what looks like a les paul to finish the show. hope he didn't smash that one too.
