For the longest time I thought this was purely a breakup song, but now I realize it's a song about finding new love, and it makes so much more sense. In the beginning, he says that time goes by so fast now that she's gone. So what would make this time slow back down, finding someone new, someone who can slow time back down. 1st verse: wanting girl a back 2nd verse: finding a new girl, hoping shell like him 3rd & 4th verse: reflecting on past and realizing maybe he's ready to fall in love again

ok its like this...........Dylan Wrote It....we all know he was a great poet, not a great singer.........Hendrix made it famous, greatest guitar riff in the history of this song, DMB made it unbelieveable at a live show because of his vocals and just raw emotion they add to every song.

well...what we tried, didnt work. so it was like everybody went, Well hell, lets just party then. and after that, we were all so burned out, we had kids to raise, and it just came down to putting food on the table. funny how hungry mouths will provide a feet on the floor realism that pushed idealism right out the door. but the party was fun for a few years. lost a lot of people to the drugs tho. bummer that.

It was a time, I went to the Isle of Wight twice 69/70 and saw many greats, Jimi in 70 a couple of weeks before his last breath. Back in those days with sucha huge number of people on 'our' side I thought we were winning. I was young, around 17 -18 and had ideals. Still do but they have aged.
