His eyes had to be surgically removed, and he was given artificial replacements. The Jeff healey band play a storming version of "blue jean blues" as featured on the "see the light" lp and of course originally by zz top, this performance is sadly missing most of the first verse and it appears to be from a german festival in i think 1990, i have a complete and rocking "roadhouse blues" from the same show to follow!!.
