We are talking about today, not ancient history. The islamic Justice and Development Party got almost 50% of the vote and runs the country. It is mostly supported by less educated rural people and rurals that have migrated to cities. The EU cannot allow a country of 70 million like that in. I also think that it was a mistake for the EU to expand to the East European counties. The US pressures the EU to allow Turkey in order to weaken it. Let the US make Turkey a state.

Why does Rose talk about something as boring as soccer? Then Turkey in the EU. I live in the EU and there is no way that Turkey is European. There is a sophisticated population in some cities, but the large majority is credulous believers in Islam. There will be a referendum about Turkey in my country, and there is no chance that Turkey will be approved. Much the better. If the U.S. likes Turkey so much, it can make it the 51st state.

I recently read that Ahmet had privately acknowledged that the Armenian Genocide occurred, and that he believed modern-day Turkey's admission of this would have helped the country gain widespread acceptance in the EU and worldwide. And he supposedly was considering speaking out in public about his acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide. Had he done this, it surely would have been one of the bravest and most morally-correct decisions he ever made in his life.

Ahmet was one of a kind music titan. Spotted Led Zeppelin's near limitless potential before virtually anyone else, and snapped them up immediately. They went on to become Atlantic's top selling artists of all time. In addition he gave countless future legends their first big break. RIP Ahmet.
