Bad ass song from back in the day! Gord's voice is honest, real, and quite fitting for this grooving ( and most missed!) track. I dig this song; nostalgically AND currently! I agree with you that society and culture has have been in a great decline since Gordon was doing his best work. I am a big fan of his but I have seen over 500 concerts in my life and unfortunately Gordon's was one of the worst live shows. The place used to have 50 cent pitchers of beer several nights a week. I think the cover charge was a dollar. Some serious partying from what little I can remember.

He has a recording studio here in Orlando, technically Cassleberry, and has recorded numerous bands. He's actually a killer guitarist as well. It's not entirely live. Background vocals are clearly double tracked. You call this "enhanced" live. They recorded the performance, took the mix into the studio, cleaned it up and did some overdubbing. It's live enough! I like this song and this band but I've heard they've run out of steam. Happens.

The sunset on 8/9/06 between Calais and Dover. Unfortunately after a full day in Calais wolfing down Calvados and wine, I was pretty drunk when I took this and it is in no particular order. I wasn't born in the 1970s, I've never dropped acid, I've never been a burnout... But just listening to this song gives me a taste of what the 60s/70s must have felt like. It's something ancient and profound, yet new and exciting. I can imagine lying in a field surrounded by naked hippie chicks and bearded men, listening to this, mellowing out and watching the clouds roll by. This song is sort of melancholy for me. Makes me feel like I missed something.
