people dont seem to understand how many more casualties there would have been for both sides if America had invaded Japan. The Japanese population was being trained to fight off any American invaders, down to the last civilian. If America had to fight, city to city, to get to Tokyo (I don't know where the Emperor was), casualties would have been much greater on both sides. The Japanese would have fought to the last man, woman, and child, for their country and their Emperor.

Seems like one difference between this and the previous Visual Thinking clips is how the shapes are drawn on screen, possibly from a source similar to what you could see done in a football game where someone draws directly on a monitor with a special light pen to mark a specific player or action. Poverty breeds desperation and hopelessness, which breeds crime. I would be interested to see the crime statistics for white ghettos - probably comparable to black or hispanic ghetto crime rates. More black and hispanics live in ghetto conditions per capita than whites, which would explain crime rate. And who created black ghettoes? The whites did. You create a ghetto, you breed crime, and it becomes a perpetuating cycle. I think whites are ultimately responsible for the mess they created.
